Aimée Povel studied jazz-drums with Eric Ineke at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, The Netherlands. She gratuated in June 2000. Previously she had studied with Joe LaBarbera (Bill Evans Trio) in California.
Aimée Povel has worked with artists including Dave Liebman, Tjitze Vogel, Natasza Kurek, Wolfert Brederode, Gulli Gudmundsson, Susanne Abbuehl, Florian Zenker, Eric Ineke, Manolo Cabras, Daniël Nösig and Frans Elsen among others.
Currently Aimée Povel is leading her own bands. One of them is Textures, which plays contemporary jazz-influenced versions of famous popsongs. Another new project is the jazz trio First Ladies, with the beautiful jazz voice of Sanna van Vliet.
In the group Nimbus, she shares the drum-role with Eric Ineke. The band was nominated for the Dutch Edison Award in 2003.
