Experience the music of Thelonious Monk through a cinematic concert led by composer, arranger, pianist John Beasley with his big band MONK'estra. The concert will be accompanied by rare film clips of Monk and his band as filmed by Michael Blackwood and captured in two films "Monk" and "Monk in Europe."
We aim to create magic on stage with monk playing solos with MONK'estra and MONK'estra accompanying Monk.
This cinematic concert experience will debut at the Walt Disney Concert Hall - Friday, January 9,
