Michael Schack, Roland expert for 20+ years, demos and explains the Roland TD-17 V-Drum in detail.
Roland introduced the TD-17 on May 8, 2018, and with the hashtag #totallydrums accidentally also claimed the true meaning of hybrid drumming. #totallydrums includes the versatility the kit and the module provide to take drumming to a next level. In several videos and articles we dive deep into what the TD-17 has to offer. Not only for drumming, but even better: how they are built to support your music and your creativity.
During the launch of the Roland TD-17 series in Los Angeles, California, Michael Schack showed us the realm of possibilities that the TD-17 and its module has. This video covers three major options with which you can create the sound of drums and cymbals of the TD-17: tuning, muffling, and adding effects that make the drums sound even more real than they already do.
With the TD-50 improved sound samples and the prismatic sound engine inside the module, the sounds of the TD-17 are already virtually real drums. While you watch Michael demoing the settings on the module itself, you will see that the multi effects of the module and adding effect sounds and combining them, the range of sounds in the TD-17 is close to endless.
Notice how easy it is to change settings for all the cymbals and drums when you hit one of them. And, for tuning and muffling, the module has two buttons on it to instantly change the sound of the TD-17 products.
