Here is a transcript of the video:
The current set of hats I am using is the pair of 14" K Mastersound HiHats. The crimped bottom really gives it a nice chick plus they give a great attack. These chuggie guitars in hardcore music, I hit these hihats with any part and I can use them basically as a crash accent or something like that and they have a nice cymbal stop to them that make them. They are so crisp and clear yet and no too heavy where they drown out everything else. So I am a big fan of the 14" K Mastersound HiHats.
So I have been messing around with other sets of hihats. I messed around with the A Custom Projection Hats, with 13" K Custom Dark HiHats, and then that brought me to the 14" K Masterosound HiHats. You know I like the As alot but they are just a little too heavy for me. Just too washy but overall the 14" Ks are where it's at. I think a main reason why hihats are important to anyones setup is that because they are the pace makers. They are the heartbeat of the drumset. Everything you do can revolve around you changing your hihats. Sure you can move to Crashes and your Ride but you can do anything you want on these hihats so many different sounds and it benefits any style of music. Not just metal but pop punk for instance, pop music. I think the hats are really a key essential part to anyone's drums.
