Tightscrew non-loosening tension rods were created by long-time professional drummer Carl Scott. Since the product's inception in 2004, many drummers have relied on tightscrew to solve their drum loosening woes.

Other popular and effective products like Luglocks, Lockerz and Rhythm Tech, require either changing the look of your drums, or installing/shifting an item in order to tension or loosen the drum. This is not the case with TightScrews.

Standard, chrome TightScrew models are available in 15/8" (42mm), 2" (52mm), 21/2" (65mm) and 45/16" (110mm) sizes and feature 12/24 threads that are compatible with most major manufacturers’ drums, counterhoops and lugs. DW's True-Pitch 10/32 thread rods as well as black and custom-colored finishes are available by special order.

However, they do not fit large-diameter, 6mm tension rods installed on some marching drums and particular models of Pearl drums, and Sonor products fitted with slotted head tension rods.
