In the sixties Allen gained world fame as Afrobeat pioneer with Fela Kuti. More recently Allen played with New Cool Collective.
Tony Allen\'s and Damon Albarn\'s new band is completed by former The Clash bassist Paul Simonon and Simon Tong, ex-guitarist of The Verve.
The quartet hope to release their debut album in January 2007. The album will be titled \"The Good, The Bad and The Queen\", and most probably that will the band\'s name as well.
They plan to release their debut single in October. The group will make their live debut at the BBC\'s Electric Proms season at revamped Camden, London venue The Roundhouse this October.
