The new album, their fifth full-length, is called \'Justified Genocide\' and set for release in the first quarter of 2009.
The cd was recorded at Excess studios in Rotterdam, Netherlands and mixed by Dan Swanö (Nightingale, Edge Of Sanity and Bloodbath fame) at Unisound in Sweden.
In 2006 the group suspended the recording sessions for \'Justified Genocide\' at Excess studios in Rotterdam, The Netherlands after the group\'s record label at the time, Black Lotus Records, announced that it was closing its doors.
In 2009 Thanatos will celebrate their 25th anniversary since they first emerged.
The record label\'s artist roster is expanding rapidly: earlier this month Deity Down added Italian outfit Murder Therapy (with Andrea Cavalieri on drums) and Dutch group Persistense (with Bram Trommelen on drums) to its artist roster.
