At the 2012 Summer NAMM show in Nashville, Tennessee, Taye Drums was selected as "Company to Watch" by NAMM's Best in Show expert panel last weekend.
Taye Drums, the California-based manufacturers of quality acoustic drums, hardware, and drum set accessories, were awarded for their all new addition to the intermediate drum market, the Galactic Series: Audition model, a 5-piece drum set complete with hardware and cymbals.
Features of Galactic Series: Audition model Select Poplar sheets are cross laminated to provide an 8ply, 7mm rigid shell which is wrapped in a road tough laminate available in 3 colors. The drums are finished off with black E-plated triple flange hoops and matching tension lugs. The included hardware pack is comprised of a hihat stand, straight cymbal stand, snare stand, and throne. The 2 piece cymbal pack includes a 14" pair of hi-hats and a 16" crash cymbal.
Taye also displayed its new high-end ParaSonic series, which debuted at Winter NAMM Show last January.
Zoom Zoom was selected too for their Q2HD, the first handheld camcorder to offer Mid-Side stereo recording, originally offered by Zoom on the H2n Handy Recorder.
Korg USA Also selected as "Company to Watch", was Korg USA, manufacturer of the renowned Wavedrum, metronomes and Kaoss synths among other products.
Best in Show was hosted by Frank Alkyer, Music Inc., with panelists Billy Cuthrell, Progressive Music Center; Vincent Nemeth, U Rock Music Center; Lisa Kirkwood, Discount Music of Jacksonville; Mike Guillot, Mississippi Music; Alan Friedman, Friedman, Kannenberg & Co.; and Donovan Bankhead, Springfield Music.
