Quickly afterwards, Supernova will enter the studio to work with producer Butch Walker. The group will record its debut album, due November 21, 2006 via Epic.
All the planning is moving forward despite a recent lawsuit filed by a pre-existing band that also uses the name Supernova. That group, with Dave Collins on drums, is best known for contributing the song Chewbacca to the movie \"Clerks\". This version of Supernova filed for a preliminary injunction after settlement talks with CBS broke down.
The Panic Channel, featuring former Jane\'s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, will support Supernova on their North American tour. A complete list of tour dates can be found here. The Panic Channel is also preparing a smaller tour that will tentatively kick off around October 20.
The Supernova musicians are still searching for a singer via the CBS show \"Rockstar\". The lead vocalist for the band will be selected during tomorrow night\'s, September 13th, episode.
