Silver Fox hand-finished sticks are painstakingly created, one pair at a time.
Del-Tips Where other drumstick manufacturers let you choose between wood and nylon tips, Silver Fox also offers delrin tips. Delrin is much denser and stronger than nylon, but does not add any additional weight to the tip of the drumstick. This provides more kinetic energy, allowing you to ploy ride cymbals faster than ever before.
Del-tips are even more durable than nylon tips, and produce a far brighter sound on cymbals. Nylon is also susceptible to moisture changes (Tip hardness can actually change by 20%) while delrin is extremely consistent and completely weatherproof.
Ultra-Tips The exclusive Silver Fox Ultra-tips are made of delrin in two shapes. The SFX marching series ultra-tips feature a hammerhead shape, designed specifically for high-tension kevlar heads. The mainstream hickory and maple drumsticks feature a small, staccato style ultra-tip.
History Silver Fox Percussion was the brainchild of percussion innovator and legendary drum corps instructor Al LeMert, who worked with the Ludwig Drum Company from 1965 through 1982.
Al LeMert was also responsible for the success of many early drum corps including the Phantom Regiment, Chicago Vanguard, Racine Kilties, and the Casper Troopers.
In 1982, Al took the expertise he had acquired while at Ludwig, moved to Ft. Myers in Florida, and created Silver Fox Percussion.
