About Ruach Music
Back in 2011 as a 16-year-old, Stephen Henderson began making cajons. It wouldn't take long before artists like Mumford & Sons discovered Stephen's instrument.
So Stephen decided to set up his own firm, Ruach Music, and manufacture the instruments on a bigger scale. Already Stephen has manufactured and sold over 400 instruments. He now plands to massively upscale his output via the kickstarter campaign which runs up to August 21. Explains Stephen:
"To get this new product into production and onto the market, it is going to take a lot more than a few pound coins found on the floor of my car. If the project is successful, I will order the parts for 150 units. As there are a great deal of parts to be assembled, these can be quite expensive; in order to get the cost down, the order size needs to increase. This size of order will enable me to launch the product line and start selling to shops and percussionists that are actively waiting for this drum to come onto the market."
Stephen already manufactured prototypes in partnership with an engineering firm to ensure his designs were feasible, and they were. These finalised designs are now ready for production.
You can back this project with a minimum of £5. Pledge £80 or more and you'll receive the MK1, the first model cajon Ruach Music released. For £270 or more you'll be the first to receive the new Live Series Cajon with cherry finish. Estimated delivery is November 2014. Go check out the campaign on kickstarter.com.
