Yngwie Malmsteen drummer Patrick Johansson (photo) has joined WASP. He is the successor of Stet Howland, who announced his departure earlier in the month.

Patrick made his live debut with WASP last Friday night, February 24 at The Legends Theatre in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Patrick Johansson, born in Falun, Sweden, currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to Yngwie, Johansson has played and recorded with the Swedish bands Without Grief and Stormwind. The drummer also spent time jamming with Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz in a new project called Wasabi.
Previously rumours tipped Jeremy Spencer as applicant for the drummer position. Spencer was also featured on WASP guitarist Darrell Roberts\' solo efforts and had toured with the band before.
