Drummer Floyd "Bud" Gaugh has decided to leave his band Sublime with Rome. He revealed the news in an interview with KROQ, explaining that his wife is pregnant and he is leaving the band to spend time with his family. Floyd will be replaced by session veteran Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Devo, The Vandals, etc).
A founding member of Sublime, Bud Gaugh teamed with former bandmate and bassist Eric Wilson and singer Rome Ramirez in 2009 to form Sublime with Rome.
Initially, the trio referred to themselves as Sublime, but changed their name to Sublime with Rome after a lawsuit was filed by the estate of late Sublime singer Bradley Nowell, who died in 1996.
Since then, the trio has toured the U.S. extensively and released their debut album, 'Yours Truly', earlier in 2011.
