Company to Watch
Gibraltar's line of drum hardware including the all-new G-Class bass drum pedal also earned the brand Company to Watch honors at the 2013 NAMM Show.
Gotta Stock It
Selected in the category Gotta Stock It was Meinl Percussion's Make Your Own Cajon Kit.
Best in Show
Winners in the category Best in Show at NAMM 2013 include Sabian's Jojo Mayer Hoop Crasher and The Noodle by Slaperoo Percussion.
Hoop Crasher
Designed by Jojo Mayer, the Sabian Hoop Crasher is a dual ring effects device which offers an incredible new range of sound possibilities. This ingenious device fits round the rim of a snare to provide drummers with a wider palette of sound options.
Made from premium B20 Bronze hi-hats, the top floatation ring is punched with 32 holes for lightness and lift. The heavier bottom ring is designed with an X-Celerator Air-Wave lip to minimise contact with the snare head meaning it can be used without changing the sound of the snare drum head, allowing you to dial in as much or as little effect as required.
Noodle
The Noodle is a 26" pvc version of Slaperoo's original S-100 electroacoustic percussion instrument. It uses it's flexability to create cool, rolling 'bass lines' similar to an electric talking drum. Details on the Noodle are still to come, but expect it to be priced around $300, half the price of the original.
