Natal Drums & Percussion will unveil plenty of new gear at the 2012 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim from January 19-22, 2012. They will introduce the all new American Walnut kit series, a new range of metal snare drums plus a special 50th Anniversary limited edition drum set. Here's an exclusive preview.
American Walnut kit series The upcoming American Walnut drum kits are positioned in the Natal range between Bubinga and Maple. The drums consist of figured hardwood with great low-mid response.
With a tighter grain than Maple, Walnut is said to produce fewer high frequencies. Darker in tone and looks than Bubinga, it has a richness that while prominent is not over stated, consistently producing full yet balanced tonal character whether tuned up or down.
American Walnut shells are 7 ply and are available in four high gloss lacquer finishes: Natural, Pewter to Black Mist, Blue to Green Fade and Orange to Red Fade.
Steel snare drums Natal is also launching a new range of metal snare drums: chrome on brass, phosphor bronze, aluminium, steel and brass. There are a wide range of sizes available: 10”, 12”, 13” & 14” diameters and depths ranging from 4” piccolo to 6.5”.
50th Anniversary limited edition kit To celebrate Marshall Amplification’s 50th Anniversary, Natal has produced the ‘JMK’ (Jim Marshall Kit). This is an homage to the legendary Jim Marshall and Marshall Amplification. The drum set will be wrapped with laminated black Tolex amplifier cab covering, with an amp grill-cloth logo-head, plus gold fittings and hardware. This exclusive Natal kit will be produced in a limited run of fifty.
