Shaw went into liquidation on February 16th. Craig Fenney from MCS, whose company distributes Shaw sticks in the UK, immediately felt that such a renowned British name should to disappear.

The Cleckheaton, Yorkshire based company was actually established in 1866 and has remained, until now, a family business. Although never the biggest drumstick brand, Shaw makes some unique drumsticks that many top-level players insist upon, inlcuding Marillion sticksman Ian Mosley.

Stick production will continue seamlessly, using the same premium American Hickory and Maple woods and the existing designs. Explains Craig Fenney:
