New: master-classses and educational performances
The 2010 Modern Drummer Festival\'s return to Montclair State University, site of history-making Modern Drummer Festivals from 1987 to 2003, will be condensed from two days to one but expanded to include master-class sessions in the morning in addition to the series of afternoon educational performances.

Previous editions
Previous Modern Drummer Festivals have been generously supported by the drum industry\'s leading manufacturers and have included spectacular drummers and percussionists, with sold-out crowds and popular videos.

Artists who have appeared at past festivals include Ginger Baker, Louie Bellson, Terry Bozzio, Dennis Chambers, Billy Cobham, Vinnie Colaiuta, Stewart Copeland, Jack DeJohnette, Sheila E, Steve Gadd, David Garibaldi, Roy Haynes, Joe Morello, Simon Phillips, Chad Smith, Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, and Tony Williams among others.
