MIPA award, Meinl Drum Festival line-up & video updates

German cymbal and percussion manufacturer Meinl is one of the most active companies in the drum market today. Besides announcing the line-up for their 2007 Drum Festival, the company received a MIPA award for their Byzance Jazz Cymbals at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt, added some new artists to the Meinl artist roster and published loads of new videos on the web site as well. We\'ve summarized all the company\'s updates for you.

Musikmesse Frankfurt, Germany
Meinl has video footage and pictures from the Frankfurter Musikmesse online. Artists like Wolfgang Haffner and Ralf Gustke were performing at the Meinl booth at the Messe. As usual, performance videos can now be seen on Wolfgang\'s and Ralf\'s individual artist pages. Also you can view some pictures taken at the booth.

Meinl wins MIPA Award
As earlier mentioned in our MIPA Awards article, Meinl has won a MIPA for her Byzance Jazz Cymbals series. The MIPA is based on over 100 magazines coming together to vote for the best instruments and products of 2006/2007. The annual MIPA awards are announced during the Frankfurt Musik Messe.

Announcing the line-up for the 2007 Meinl Drum Festival
After the huge success of the 2005 and 2006 Meinl Drum Festivals, the line-up for the third annual Meinl Drum Festival on September 08, 2007, taking place once again on Meinl\'s premises in Gutenstetten.

The hands-on master classes, which debuted at last year`s festival by all performing artists, were extremely well received by the audience.

Performing artists on the 2007 festival are:

Plus a special guest that is to be announced in July

New endorsing artists
Also Meinl welcomes several new artists to the already huge artist roster of the cymbal maker. New endorsees are Jon Wilkes of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Jon `The Charn` Rice of Pennsylvania based Job For A Cowboy and Fightstar`s rhythm engine Omar Abidi, who is in Los Angeles recording a new album with the band which will be released later this year.
