The lightweight shells are made from poplar wood (Populus). In combination with the replaceable thin synthetic head, it results in a sharp, clear and bright sound. Meinl's logo is applied from underneath the head (CN, US patent).

The timbas also feature chrome plated hardware, a comfortable rounded rim and a strong hook to attach a belt, which makes it comfortable to play.

The African Brown coloured drums have a matte finish. Last but not least: a tuning key is included, so when you buy these instruments, you're immediately set to go.
