Meinl Drum Festival 2008 line-up announced

On September 6 and 7, the 2008 edition of the Meinl Festival will once again take place on the factory ground in Gutenstetten, Germany. With Meinl, another year means another fabulous line-up. And next to that, the festival added an extra Masterclass day to the festival on Saturday. Benny Greb, Jost Nickel and Johnny Rabb will all give extended classes of � 90 minutes for all participants. On Sunday Chris Coleman, Jaska Raatikainen and Daniel Svensson will join the three drummers on the Drumshow day. Also present is the international Musikmesse Frankfurt, giving away 10 x 2 free tickets for the 2009 Messe.

Day 1: Masterclass / Education
On Saturday September 06, Benny Greb, Jost Nickel and Johnny Rabb will conduct exclusive Masterclasses. Registration must be made on the Meinl website www.meinldrumfestival.com. This day is already sold out.

Each masterclass will last approximately 90 minutes. Benny Greb will give a lecture on �Drumming vocabulary, universal repertoire for every situation.� Jost Nickel�s masterclass is going to be about �Phrasing and Orchestration� and Johnny Rabb�s presentation will be about �Versatile drumming: being well versed in many styles will allow you more drumming opportunities.� The final of the day is an interactive panel discussion of all faculty members. And other guests will offer insight into the everyday life of a professional drummer.

A special rehearsal space equipped with pads and drum sets enables participants to begin working on the content just learned. In addition, a cymbal workshop to be conducted by the Meinl product specialists will inform participants all about this instrument. Every attendant will receive an official participation certificate.

Day 2: Drumshows
World class drum performances will be held on Sunday, September 07, 2008. You can participate in autograph sessions, meet your drum heroes personally, join the drum circles and visit the Meinl cymbal exhibition. Last but not least, Meinl will give-away valuable equipment among all participants of the Meinl Drum Festival.
