As of January 1st Martin Verdonk is the new official #1 endorser In Europe for percussion brand Tycoon from Thailand. His official introduction as a member on the artist roster of Tycoon will take place on the Frankfurter Musik Messe in Germany in April 2009. Located in Bangkok, Thailand Tycoon Percussion was established in 1985 and originally began manufacturing hand percussion products on an OEM basis for other well-known percussion brands. It was not until the early 1990’s when the growth of Tycoon Percussion branded products began to accelerate quickly and established a significant presence in markets throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.
In February Martin will be flying over to Thailand for the first promo pictures and prepare for the Musik Messe in Frankfurt, Germany. The International Trade Fair for music takes place from April 1 to 4, and Martin will be at the Tycoon booth the whole period, as well as performing as giving interviews and talk about his new brand. Obvioulsly he will be giving clinics all over Europe after his introduction with Tycoon at the Messe. About Martin Verdonk Drummerszone.com endorser Martin Verdonk was born in Curaçao and moved to the Netherlands with his parents in 1971. He studied latin percussion at the Rotterdam conservatory from 1982-1984 and studied at the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba in \'86, \'87 and \'88. As his his main influences/teachers Martin names: Giovanni Hidalgo, Lenny Castro, Luis Conte, Richie Flores, Mario Jaurequi, Roberto Vizcaino, Paulinho da Costa and Ralph MacDonald.
