That is the premesis of the game Legends of Rock that is planned for release on 5 November 2026. The grueling but glorious reality of an independent musician is developed by one-man video game studio Arik Games, an Indie game developer from Oslo, Norway. Legends of Rock already got great response at the Tokyo Game Show in September this year. The release date is exactly the same day Arik Games released their first game 'Dude, Where Is My Beer?'

Legends of Rock is a management game where you run your own rock band. Each day you choose how to spend your time. You will need to balance songwriting, rehearsals and playing gigs while holding down a day job to pay the bills, while surviving on instant noodles or buying a pizza at Mama Grande when you're broke and desperate.

Build your band
Shop for records, instruments and groceries, meet musicians around the city, and recruit your band. Record albums, earn points, and fight for a place in the online Hall of Fame. And remember to take a shower from time to time.

Time management
Your choices affect your character’s attributes. Practicing improves your musical skills, listening to music boosts inspiration, and skipping meals for too long will make you sick and lose time

Music mechanics
Each band member performs based on their skill and practice. Songs have separate instrument tracks that play out differently every time - maybe the drummer nails it while the guitarist struggles. As your band improves, so do your performances.

Soundtrack
The in-game band's music is composed by Arne Skagen (Gluecifer) and Anton Ruud.
