\"You know what? Nobody wanted to make videos with us. So it wasn\'t like anybody was going, \"Please come make a video for \'Seek and Destroy\'. It just didn\'t seem like we were part of that whole thing in the \'80s.\"
Looking back at the list of video clips included on \"The Videos 1989-2004\", there\'s nothing the drummer would have personally left off:
\"Looking at the list here, I can\'t say there are any of these videos that are embarrassing to me. In related news: the Metallica drummer joined Guns n\' Roses on stage earlier this month. The surprise happened December 15, 2006 during Axl Rose and company\'s headlining appearance at the Oracle Arena (formerly Oakland Arena) in Oakland, California for a rendition of the Gn\'R classic Out Ta Get Me.
Last but not least: According to several reports Metallica have written about 25 songs for their ninth studio effort and are now concentrating on trimming that list to one album\'s worth of material. Ulrich and the rest of the band will begin recording in January 2007.
Referring to the controversial, low-fi production on 2003\'s \"St. Anger\", Lars Ulrich says that he\'s \"taken the drums out of the cardboard boxes\" this time, and that lead guitarist Kirk Hammett will lay down guitar solos on this record.
The new disc will be produced by Rick Rubin and is expected out by late 2007. Rubin previously worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down, Slipknot, Johnny Cash and Shakira among many others.
