Titled \'Sonic Boom\', the new release will hit the streets on October 6. It will feature a cd of new material, as well as re-recorded versions of some classic Kiss tracks and a live dvd.

Kiss is not the first act to release their albums through Wal-Mart. Over the last years the retail giant has also released albums by The Eagles, Foreigner, Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC.

Wal-Mart also plans to expand into other merchandise licensed by Kiss.

Classic Rock was invited to an exclusive preview of the new Kiss album. According to the magazine, \'Sonic Boom\' is a back-to-their-roots album:
