The couple got a special Christmas gift when their first child, daughter Violet Marlowe Followill, was born on December 26 in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to spokesman, mom, dad and baby are doing well and are very much in love.

Nathan shared his joy on Twitter, telling fans:

"I can proudly announce the birth of my sweet angel Violet Marlowe Followill. My heart has been stolen and it feels so good."

Violet is the latest baby to join the Followill clan: Nathan's brother Caleb welcomed his first child, Dixie Pearl, earlier this year. His guitarist and cousin Matthew welcomed son Knox in April 2011.

The baby comes before what promises to be a busy 2013 for Kings Of Leon.

The Nashville-based band have been working on new music for an album which is expected to be released next year.
