The Kerrang! awards took place in London last Thursday, August 21. 30 Seconds To Mars, featuring Shannon Leto on drums, won as Best International Band, beating nominees My Chemical Romance, Madina Lake, Coheed And Cambria, and Avenged Sevenfold. 30 Seconds To Mars also won an award for From Yesterday as Best Single.

The winners for 2008 in all other categories are as follows:
Michael “Moose” Thomas and his band Bullet For My Valentine were named Best British Band. Also nominated in this category were Lostprophets, Bring Me The Horizon, You Me At Six, and Biffy Clyro.
The Miami-based youngsters from Black Tide, with Steven Spence behind the drums, won as Best International Newcomer. Best British Newcomer was Slaves To Gravity, with drummer Jason Thomopoulos.
Avenged Sevenfold\'s album \'Avenged Sevenfold\' was voted Best Album. The other nominations included Bullet For My Valentine\'s \'Scream Aim Fire\', \'A Sense Of Purpose\' by In Flames, \'If\' by Mindless Self Indulgence, and Cancer Bats\' album \'Hail Destroyer\'.
The award for Best Video was won by Coheed And Cambria for Feathers.
Machine Head was named Best Live Band, leaving nominated acts 30 Seconds To Mars, Lostprophets, The Dillinger Escape Plan
and Avenged Sevenfold behind.
All above mentioned winners were voted by the readers of Kerrang! Magazine and Kerrang.com.

Rage Against The Machine was added to Kerrang!\'s Hall Of Fame. British rock legends Def Leppard collected their long overdue Classic Songwriter award. Slipknot won the Kerrang! Icon, following the footsteps of 2007 winners Nine Inch Nails. Metallica was winner in the category Inspiration.
