Jason Hook, guitarist for Five Finger Death Punch (with Jeremy Spencer on drums), is co-producing a documentary about the relatively unknown first call, a-list musicians; the go-to players standing in the shadows of our favorite stars on stage and backing them up in the studio, helping them selling millions of records.
Titled 'Hired Gun - Music's Unsung Heroes', the upcoming docu features those supporting musicians, including some of the world's greatest drummers.
Among the featured drummers who are dragged out of the shadow into the spotlight are Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Chickenfoot, John Fogerty), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel's drummer for 30 years), Eric Singer (Kiss, Badlandz, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, The Cult), Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy, Whitesnake), Bevan Davies (Danzig, Jerry Cantrell, Engelbert Humperdinck), Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper, Sixx A.M., Beautiful Creatures), and Mark Schulman (P!nk, Cher, Billy Idol) among others.
Director Fran Strine has gained unparalleled access into the lives and homes of these artists. Due to his credibility in the music world, Strine is able to share intimate details of the personal and professional lives of these musicians.
