Kyle B. Woodring, a drummer who played with Survivor and John Mellencamp among others, was found dead in his home on Tuesday September 8, 2009. Kyle was 42 years old. According to the coroner’s office Woodring probably died from hanging on Monday, September 7.

Kyle Woodring was an accomplished musician. He was born and raised in Mason, Michigan. Kyle began playing drums at the age of four.
He studied percussion privately for ten years at Michigan State University before enrolling in the School of Music at MSU after graduating from high school.
Kyle moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1987 and joined the band Survivor. He also appeared on talk shows hosted by Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Conan O’Brien.
