Avantasia is the solo project of Tobias Sammet, who crowds the great names of the rock and heavy metal scene together for every new album, including drum greats such as Eric Singer, Felix Bohnke and Alex Holzwarth. The Wacken gig will be the only Avantasia festival show worldwide in 2011.

The Blind Guardian performance at WOA will be their only show in Germany in 2011.

Held from August 5 to 7, 2010, this year\'s WOA edition attracted some 75,000 festivalgoers and went without a hitch. Comments the festival organization:
