Evans Black Chrome drumheads are said to be the first sleek, black mirror-like 2-ply heads that deliver a robust tone, controlled sustain with exceptional ease of tuning.

The two-ply heads consist of a 7 mil optically clear film over an 8 mil black film, for exceptionally strong durability and the sleek, mirror-like appearance. The combination of these opposing films controls sustain and provides accentuated mid-to-low frequency response.

G14 single 14mm ply drumheads earn praise
Earlier this year, at Winter NAMM 2012, Evans launched its G14 heads. With a single 14mm ply instead of the industry standard 10mm, the G14s deliver high durability without losing the strong dynamic response of a single-ply head. Evans claims their G14 heads are ideal for use in high-volume performance situations because they can withstand heavy-hitting while projecting through the mix to provide a full, aggressive sound.
