Metal drummer Duane Timlin is celebrating his birthday today, but nearly escaped death only three days ago. Last Friday, Duane was involved in a perilous car accident that sent him through the windshield.
"(...) Less than two miles away from my house the young lady I was riding with hit a nasty wet spot spun out and flipped at least three times where I was ejected, and left face down in a ditch full of freezing water, By far the most brutal accident possible."
It could have been worse though. Duane continues:
"The good news is I survived! The C T scans and Xrays all came back good no breaks, I have... a fractured orbital wall in my left eye, gash on my forehead and some extreme soreness which will heal soon, I'm walking, hands and legs are all good so I will be back to fight another day! I've worked to damn hard to lose it all. Drums are my life and I appreciate them even more now since I'm in good shape on account of them! (...) Luckily I wasn't drunk!"
According to Duane, drums are awesome rehibiltation, good for range of motion. We with him a speedy recovery.
