Drumerica, the national competition for young drummers in the United States is now open to 13-18 year-old boys and girls.
Drumerica winners will receive nearly $25,000 in prizes and will be selected by judging panels made up of world-famous drummers, leading drum educators and top drum industry professionals.
The Drumerica national contest for young drummers officially closes on August 1, 2014. All entries must include a video performance of an official track, which you can download from the website, along with the registration form.
A preliminary group of 25 finalists will be announced on August 9 and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be announced on August 16.
Judges Drumerica's star-studded roster of judges include Kenny Aronoff, Gorden Campbell, Tommy Igoe, Ray Luzier, Steve Smith, Bryan Hitt and Daru Jones, as well as some of the most talented young players on the contemporary scene such as Tino Arteaga, Arin Ilejay, Jake Garland, Antoine Fadavi, Nia Lovelis, Hannah "Ford" Welton, and Cobus Potgieter.
The Drumerica panel also includes the editors of Modern Drummer magazine and leading industry representatives such as John DeChristopher.
