Dave Lombardo, formerly of Slayer and currently drumming with Philm, will join avant-garde/experimental composer and multi-instrumentalist John Zorn on the third of the four-night 'Zorn in Oz: Triple Bill series' at the Adelaide Festival in March 2014.
Dave will be playing as part of trio called Bladerunner, to be joined by John Zorn on alto-sax and Bill Laswell on bass.
Bladerunner is a live only project with no official studio recordings to date. The outfit previously toured Europe as a quartet with Fred Firth on guitar, first debuting in 2000. Their performance at The Barbican in London, UK on July 3, 2000 was released as a bootleg.
Around that same period Dave worked with John Zorn on the albums 'Music Romance, Vol. 2 Taboo & Exile' (1999), and 'Xu Feng' (2000).
