Dave Lombardo to record debut with Philm

Slayer drummer enters the studio with side-project

Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo will enter the studio with his Los Angeles-based experimental post-hardcore project Philm to begin recording its debut album for Blood Orange Records.

Philm earlier in the year completed recording a three-song demo at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California with producer Piers Baron.

Dave Lombardo and guitarist/vocalist Gerry Nestler (Civil Defiance) first got together in 1997.

They wanted to start an original band. The duo later regrouped between Slayer\'s scheduled tour dates in late 2009, playing some upstairs jams at the Rainbow in Hollywood. Gerry:

\"We then decided to restart our band. Our bassist, Pancho Tomaselli (War), had met Dave a few years back at one Dave\'s drum clinics and we decided to invite him in.\"
