The Swedish firm Clavia introduced Nord Drum 2, the successor to its one-year old Nord Drum, at the Musikmesse 2013 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Nord Drum 2 is Clavia's latest modeling percussion synth and features six-channels rather than four on the original.
Other new features include resonance modeling, FM-synthesis, distortion effects, stereo outputs (rather than mono on the original) with panning and CC-control.
Clavia is also releasing the Nord Pad, a responsive and compact six-pad controller that can be connected to the Nord Drum 2 via a single cable ethernet connector.
The Nord Drum 2 will begin shipping in May with an RRP of approximately 600 USD (£400 or 465 euros) with the Nord Pad going for about 300 USD (£200 or 230 euros).
