Last couple of weeks thousands of visitors voted on the website of the world\'s biggest animal rights organisation (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for their favourite vegetarian artist.

Both winners had to compete with the punkpop guys of Good Charlotte, rockchick Avril Lavigne and R&B-singer Erykah Badu.

Chris Martin and his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, are known for their love of vegan cuisine. The made international headlines recently when they gave aptly named daughter Apple a vegan birthday cake on hir first birthday.

Joss Stone was nominated for the first time. No wonder as the 18-year-old soul superstar is winning hearts everywhere she goes. Stone grew up with animals on her family\'s farm in England and reveiled she often sang to the livestock. Stone is also known for drinking soy milk during interviews.
