"The Master Classes are basically extensions of the clinics. We limit the class size to 25 so everyone gets some personal attention - it's like a mix between a clinic and a private lesson. We also plan to have some special events in the Master Class conference room like the Daniel Glass roundtable."
Home-cooked food will be available in the Rebeats Cafe which has over the last three years evolved into sort of a 'second stage'. with informative video presentations, interviews, and performances.
Headlining the Cafe stage presentations will be Jon Cohan who has a presentation on studio drum tuning. Cohan is the author of 'Star Sets', and 'Zildjian; A History Of The Legendary Cymbal Makers'. He is also a vintage authority, gigging drummer, and top-tier drum tech. Among the other Cafe presentations will be an explanation of the new 360 Systems platform recently introduced by Evans.
New exhibitors
Show organizer Rob reports that both exhibit halls are filling up with at least a dozen new exhibitors this year:
"It's a great mix, with several brand new boutique drum companies this show has become known for as well as first-time appearances of some big industry players like Tama and Pearl. It has become clear that the Chicago Drum Show demographic covers nearly every age and interest. It will be a big music weekend in St Charles; there is also a guitar show and a Gary Hoey concert at the newly renovated Arcada theater, a former vaudeville palace>"
