\"Towards the end of recording \'Magic,\' excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O\'Brien heard the new songs, he said, \'Let\'s keep going. \'Over the course of the next year, that\'s just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year\'s tour. I hope \'Working on a Dream\' has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we\'ve ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end.\"
E Street Band drummers
The E Street Band started in 1972. Their original lineup included Vini \"Mad Dog\" Lopez on drums. In February 1974 Lopez was asked to resign, and was briefly replaced by Ernest \"Boom\" Carter. In September 1974 Ernest was replaced by Max Weinberg, who joined the band after answering a newspaper ad that famously requested \"no junior Ginger Bakers\" in reference to Ginger Baker\'s long drum solo reputation. Max has been drumming with the E Street Band ever since.
Tonight Show with Conan O\'Brien
\"Mighty\" Max is also regular drummer in The Tonight Show with with Conan O\'Brien. This makes it hard to plan touring dates, in particular since the drummer recently announced to move to Los Angeles in June 2009 to follow Conan O\'Brien. There would be a very large vacancy behind the drum kit if Bruce Springsteen decides to hit the road without Max.
Here\'s the track list of \'Working on a Dream\':
The album will include two bonus tracks. The first is entitled The Wrestler from the movie starring Mickey Rourke of the same name. The second is A Night With The Jersey Devil, which Springsteen gave away for free online on Halloween.
