Blur sticksman Dave Rowntree has lost in a Westminster City Council by-election. This means the drummer will not become a Labour Councillor in London.

Dave, an avid Labour supporter, was beaten by Conservative rival Mehfuz Ahmed for the Church Street seat.
Mehfuz won 955 votes while Dave only received 652 votes. It\'s the first time the traditional Labour stronghold returned a Tory. Liberal Democrat Martin Thompson came third with 176 votes.
It was Dave Rowntree\'s second failed bid for political office, after he came third in a London council by-election last year.
