Blue Devils have won the 2015 DCI world championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. They placed first with a score of 97.650, beating Carolina Crown (second, 97.075), Bluecoats (third, 96.925), The Cadets (fourth, 95.900) and Santa Clara Vanguard (fifth, 93.850) among others.
Blue Devils also received the Fred Sanford performance award for Best Percussion, determined by averaging the scores from all three nights of the World Championship competition.
The 2015 Drum Corps International (DCI) Tour reached its peak August 3-8, with a week-long celebration of the very best in marching music at the DCI World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The season of close finishes amongst the four top corps was nerve-racking, driving up attendance to record-breaking numbers at many shows. But when the smoke cleared, Blue Devils finished in a spot they've been 16 times before - first place.
After finishing fourth at Thursday's DCI World Championship Prelims, it looked like their shot at a repeat championship was in doubt. But as the book was beginning to close, the corps from Concord, California calmly climbed back up the scoreboard, finishing second on Friday and completing the comeback with an emphatic victory over Carolina Crown Saturday night.
