After playing with Bambix for twelve years, drummer Peter Dragt wanted to follow a different musical direction, nowadays prefering metal and stoner rock over punkrock. Also due to the group\'s extensive touring schedule and a temporary hand injury Peter decided to depart from Bambix. The Dutch punkrock trio is currently looking for a new sticksman who can play like NOFX, Bad Religion and Propaghandi.\"I wasn\'t motivated anymore, I just wanted to call it a day. I continue playing with my stonerrock band Emperors of the Black. Bambix has a lot to offer for drummers who aim to play often and don\'t mind being on the road.\"
Twiggy drummer Casper van de Beek has stepped in as temporary replacement for all scheduled Bambix shows.
Drummers who are interested may send videos, audio tracks, MySpace links, etc but the band will hold auditions as well. Bambix bassist Patrick Schappert explains:
\"You should know that we\'re looking for someone who feels comfortable with our style of music and who has the right attitude for it. A tight drummer (male or female), who is creative and flexible enough to add something unique. We play simple pop(punk) songs and we\'re definitely not looking for drummers who try to impress with breaks and fills that don\'t fit the songs. It\'s a big plus if he or she can sing. Also, keep in mind that we play abroad about eighty times a year so you\'ll be away from home for complete weekends and weeks!\"
