\"Very well! I caught a little cold but nothing to worry about. Its Saturday morning here and we are happy to have a few real hours of rest since the tour started.\"
The schedule was really tight indeed. Do you feel in shape?
\"Very much! I really feel good physically. We have short nights here though. Most shows start after midnight here, which means you go to bed around four or five every night. We have to get up early every day to travel to the next city. Italy is a big country, so we also drive for a few hours every day as well. So, you\'ll understand... no chicks for me this tour, haha! I\'m kidding there; I have a wife and am happily married! [Juan is married to singer Jenna Attison, red;]\"
So, what about those dvd recordings?
\"We got the opportunity to record the show in Turin. After our first two shows in Germany we drove 1500 kilometers south to Italy. A perfect moment to talk about things like promotion and start thinking about the period after this tour. In short: Stef made a couple of phone calls and got it all arranged. We recorded the show in Turin with three cameras. Also, we have plans for a new album! After the tour we\'ll start working on it.\"
Before we switch to Stef, what\'s the thing that stood out most for you during the tour?
\"For sure that is the owner of the Rockaway venue. He made a complete merchandise line for us! It’s all there, T-shirts, posters, hats and even fleece jackets for the band only! In return he only asks for his costs covered. An amazing gesture, considering these are serious investments for bands, never knowing how much you will sell.\"
Stef Burns
Stef, how is the tour going for you so far?
\"Its good man. We\'re playing our asses off here once again.\"
Juan told me about the dvd. When do you expect it to be released?
\"Well, we recorded the full show in Torino. We have to look at all the footage first and see how the audio turns out. Yes, I will be editting it in San Fransisco later and hope to make something good of it.\"
Are you playing a lot of songs of \'World, Universe, Infinity\'?
\"Yes, but also things we haven\'t played before. Some songs of the first album [\'Swamp Tea\', red;] and stuff from The Beatles like Dig a Pony from the \'Let it Be\' album and Stevie Ray Vaughan\'s Couldn\'t Stand the Weather that I haven\'t played since 2000 or so.\"
What\'s the thing that stood out most for you so far?
\"I guess it must be the joy of playing with the guys. Also the people are enthusiastic and the concerts are great. We have fans here that drive like 300 kilometers to see a show! We are still growing here and keep building the audience. The first concerts in Germany were awesome with double encores. We really want to continue playing with this band. Even more over Europe in Germany, Holland and of course the other countries.\"
And what\'s next for you after this tour?
\"I\'m going back to SF and do some shows with Huey Lewis and The News. In April I will be back in Italy to do some clinics and after that back to the US to do some writing for myself, my projects with Peppino D\'Agostino and perhaps Vasco Rossi as well. Work on the dvd and after that another tour with Hueye. And I will try to take Holidays with my family too!\"
Holidays? You have time for that?
\"I\'ll make time for it, man!\"
Video Space Time
Stef provided us with his new video of the song Space Time of \'World, Universe, Infinity\'. In it you\'ll see images of previous tours and the recordings of the clip. Juan is playing the live drums, Joe Satriani\'s drummer Jeff Campitelli plays on the special recordings for the video. On \'World, Universe, Infinity\' you can also hear Abe Laboriel Jr. and Italian drummer Paolo Muscovi. Once again the Space Time Tour Band consists of Stef, Juan, bass player Walter Latupeirissa and Fabio Valdemarin on keyboards.
