Just like every year, the Adams Drummers Festival takes place one day after the Musik Messe in Frankfurt ends. Many artists, industry folks and public program their GPS to Diest in Belgium for the annual international drum festival. For this year, the line-up had Karl Brazil, Steve Ferrone, Ian Paice, Michael Schack and Dutch drummer Rick van Wort. We start this series with Michael Schack performing Roland clinics during the day, and closing the day on the main stage with the Roland Demo Band.
Michael Schack is probably the most traveling Belgian musician. Prior to the Adams Drummers Festival, we saw him in Frankfurt, where he just arrived from Australia. His schedule takes him all over the globe with different groups and artists. The drummer, producer and sound designer plays with SquarElectric, Netsky, Belgian artists Milk Inc, Soulsister and has played with alternative pop artist Ozark Henry and Dance-Pop artist Kate Ryan amongst others.
As an international V-Drums artist and demonstrator, co-development consultant for Roland Musical Instruments, Japan, he travels throughout Europe and Asia, both solo and with V-Topia (featuring Swedish Synth Wizzard David Ahlund). SquarElectric is his personal/duo project, with an album available on iTunes, Bandcamp.com and Amazon.com. The 'Livetronic BeatFreak & V-Drums artist'-as he calls himself on Facebook is one hell of a drummer; give him any musical setting possible and he will make it happen.
As one of the best V-Drums artists out there, he is able to create stunning demos with almost impossible soundscapes that he pulls out off the Roland instruments. A joy to see and hear. Watch the two videos on the right and prepare to be amazed in four minutes of dazzling Roland performance.
