Pacific Drums and Percussion (PDP) was launched in 2000, which means this year is the brand's 20th Anniversary. In our video from NAMM2020 we take you through all the new from PDP, including the new Select Metal snare drums and finishes for the Concept Series Maple drums.
PDP 20th Anniversary kit The all-European 7-ply Maple PDP 20th Anniversary Kit features a 2-tone matte black lacquer paint job with gloss black center stripe and antique bronze hardware. You can only order this drum kit in 2020. As of 2021, it becomes a collector's item. That is also the moment when the final count of kits produced can be done.
Fun fact: Tony Thaxton, drummer with Indie Rock band Motion City Soundtrack, was the first drummer that took the PDP 20th Anniversary kit on the band's January 2020 reunion tour.
The sizes of the drums are 8"x10" and 9"x12" toms, a 14"x16" floor and an 18"x22" kick. It is fitted with Suspension Tom Mounts. The kit features True-Pitch Tuning, dual-mini turret lugs, limited badges and a special logo head.
Sold separately, is the matching snare that has a 10-ply European maple shell with the MAG throw-off, 2.3mm flanged steel counter hoops and is topped with Remo heads.

PDP Concept Select Metal Snare Drums Drum Workshop Inc. also launched new Aluminum, Bell Bronze and Steel snare drums in the PDP Concept snare range. All the snares have a 3mm shell and are 6.5" x 14 in size and have chrome hardware. The steel snare actually falls under PDP's Steel Concept series of snare drums.
While finished with all the specs from the 20th Anniversary kit, the coolest feature of these snares is the laser engraved PDP badge. Check them out in the video. They are really a sweet icing on these metal cakes.

PDP Concept Series Maple Drums Finishes New for 2020 - and featured in the video above - are these finishes: Twisted Ivory, Satin Pewter, Satin Olive, Satin Seafoam and Satin Black. Also, the Carbon Fiber finish with black nickel hardware, and the PDP Concept Series Exotic Drums has the new Honey Mahogany.
