Roland once again has outdone itself. The new V-Drums Acoustic Design are being launched at the NAMM Show as we speak. The next phase in electronic drumming means a brand-new V-Drums experience on actual acoustic drums. Besides three new models VAD V-Drums, Roland also reveiled the TD 27-KV. Roland V-drummers Michael Schack and KJ Sawka showcased two of the kits during the annual Roland press conference at the NAMM Show.
In this article we give you the first video, data and photo views on the new VAD506, VAD503, and the VAD306 model. In a separate article we will cover the new TD 27-KV.
The VAD503 is a four-piece kit with full-size wooden shells, a digital snare and ride, and comes with the versatile TD-17 module. Its bigger brother is the VAD506, a five-piece kit that has the new TD-27 module in the package.
The VAD306 is described as a space-saving kit with shallow-depth shells and comes, just like the four-piece VAD503 with the module of the TD-17.
Both the VAD5XX kits feature a 14" Digital Snare and 18" Digital ride cymbal. The shells have the cool Midnight Sparkle wraps. Important to know is that the VAD306 has significant different sizes and drums. Although it is smaller in size, it still features the strong and versatile module of the in 2018 launched TD-17.
