Gon Bops' new for 2018
8" Timbale Snare
The Timbale Snare has a long-range, sensitive snare throw-off that lets you adjust the snare sound from a loose rattle to a tight, hip-hop backbeat.
The snare throw-off gives you a wide range of tones from backbeats to full timbale fills. The shell is aluminum.
Roberto Quintero Signature Congas
The Roberto Quintero signature Fiberglass Congas and Bongos are made from fiberglass shells with Gon Bops California Series Contour Hardware and custom Remo Skyndeep heads. As Rich Mangicaro tells you in the video above, the drums produce deep, resonant bass tones and loud, cutting highs. The drums available are: Conga, Tumba and Super Tumba sizes, and the Bongo is 7" & 8.5.
Fiesta Cajons
Gon Bops has four new Fiesta Cajon models. All 4 new models feature internal snare wires, extra-large rubber feet for superior isolation, a rubber seat pad and a size and form factor that is beginner friendly. The available colors are: Fiesta Lime Crush, Ultra Violet, Cherry Bomb and White Magic.
Crasher Deluxe
The original Crasher was designed with Pete Engelhart, and has now been revised. The new Crasher Deluxe has two sets of blades: a mounted set of three steel blades, and a set of aluminum blades.
So you can choose which sound to go with in the studio or live: the loud, cutting tone of the steel blades or the softer effect of aluminum. Or, you can mix them! The Crasher Deluxe features the Gon Bops V-Grip mount with 2-point tightening mechanism.
Hickory Claves
Usually, claves are made from Rosewood, but Gon Bops comes with high-density Hickory Claves. The Hickory used is virtually identical in density to Rosewood. Both the clave and striker are 8.25" x 1" (209.5mm x 25.4 mm) in size.
Timbale Hardware
Inspired by Luisito Quintero, Gon Bops now has a complete set of hardware to mount bells, blocks, cymbals and more to any timbale or percussion set-up. The new set has premium features like X-Pand Quick Release Ratchets, TechLock Clamps with large reset handles and secondary drum key locks. The 7-piece set includes a pair of 9.5" brackets, one for Gon Bops Timbales with square-slot receiver and a universal bracket to fit virtually any other Timbale brand.
The set also includes a ˝" diameter Knurled Straight Rod, a ˝" diameter Toothless Rod with two TechLock Clamps and secondary drum key locks, a pair of ˝" diameter Toothless Rods with one TechLock Clamp and secondary drum key lock, and a 17" (432mm) Cymbal Boom Arm with Tilter.
Handcrafted Brazilian Caxixi
The new Caxixi from Gon Bops are 100% hand-woven in Brazil. Inside are wild banana tree seeds that strike the hard gourd-skin base. They are sold as single shakers in 3 sizes – mini, small and large.
With origins in ancient West Africa, it was believed Caxixi could ward off evil spirits and summon good enchanted spirits. While Gon Bops makes no such claim for its new instruments, they are certainly guaranteed to inspire and summon your creative spirit!
Bongo Duffel Bag
The new Gon Bops Bongo Duffel Bag has an adjustable padded divider for safely transporting bells, tambourines, or other small percussion instruments, without damaging the Bongo shells or head. It is water-resistant.
