At the Winter NAMM Show 2014 next week, the Zildjian Company will present an expansion pack for Zildjian Digital Vault, a comprehensive collection of Zildjian cymbal recordings ready to slot into your BFD2 or BFD Eco installation. BFD is FXpansion's flagship software acoustic drum studio.
The Zildjian Digital Vault Orchestral and Field Cymbal Expansion Pack includes hand cymbals, tam-tams, crotales, gongs, and more played with multiple striking devices and hundreds of articulations.
The expansion pack is available as a download-only product from FXpansion. Pricing is $149.00 USD (€109.00 or 95 GBP) plus VAT where applicable.
About the Zildjian Digital Vault Zildjian's original Digital Vault features 34 classic crashes, splashes, rides, chinas and hihats hand-selected by Zildjian's master cymbal tester Paul Francis. Recorded in intricate detail by sampling guru John Emrich, the sounds are captured with crisp direct mics and lush stereo overhead and room mic sets.
Each cymbal is recorded at multiple velocities while being struck by sticks, brushes and mallets. The included cymbals feature articulations for bow, edge and bell positions while hihats feature tip and edge hits at 5 positions between open and closed.
Zildjian Digital Vault combines Gen16 Z-Pack1, S-Pack1 and S-Pack2 with some minor differences. The biggest one probably being that the BFD Eco DV software is not included on the Digital Vault.
