According to California Highway Patrol, John Paul Giosa veered his black 1998 Volkswagen Beetle off the the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway near Howard Hughes Parkway for unknown reasons and struck a concrete overpass pillar around 4 am.

The musician died at the scene.

A motorist was killed as well when John Paul crashed into the pillar.

A post on the Bulletboys' Facebook.com page confirms the tragedy. The note states:

"I post this message with a heavy heavy heart... Words cannot express how devastated I am to hear about my friends passing, Mr. Johnny G. My sincerest condolences to his family and the ones he loved. We're all going to miss you brother!"

Bulletboys were a glamrock outfit who formed in LA in 1987. The group went through numerous lineup changes, which featured drummers such as Jimmy D'Anda and Steven Adler of Guns n' Roses among others.
