The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced its 2010 artist inductees. ABBA (whose regular drummer Ola Brunkert passed away in 2008), Genesis (best known with Phil Collins on drums), Jimmy Cliff (currently accompanied by drummer Desmond Jones and percussionist Denver Smith), The Hollies (featuring Bobby Elliott on drums since 1963) and The Stooges (with co-founder and drummer Scott Asheton) are the five artists to be inducted as performers.\"We are very happy to present this year’s inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as they represent a great cross-section of artists that define the broad spectrum and history of rock and roll and people that have contributed immeasurably to our business.\"
Once again the committee that nominates artists for the Hall ignored a number of acts that many feel deserve induction, including Kiss, Rush, Alice Cooper, Yes, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and dozens of others.
