Dave Lombardo and fellow thrashers of Slayer will come to Germany exclusively for the three day open air festivals Wacken Rocks Seaside and Wacken Rocks Southside. And with Danish cult band Volbeat, featuring Jon Larsen on drums, the second headlining slot for the Wacken Rocks Festivals is taken as well.

\'World Painted Blood is Slayer\'s tenth studio album due to be released by American Recordings/Sony BMG on 7th July 2009. The album is being produced by Greg Fidelman.
Slayer will only perform two open-air shows in Germany: one show in Rieden/Kreuth, Southern Germany, and one show in Aurich, East Frisia.
